Lanzarote has registered 14 new Covid outbreaks in the last week, according to the Ministry of Health. For its part, a total of 266 new outbreaks with 1,262 associated cases have been reported in the archipelago.
By islands, 130 outbreaks have occurred in Tenerife, 104 in Gran Canaria, nine in Fuerteventura, seven in La Palma, one in La Gomera and one in El Hierro, in addition to the 14 that have been registered in Lanzarote.
By area in which they have occurred, 142 are social outbreaks, 74 family, 34 work-related, eight in socially vulnerable groups, four educational, three sports and one health/family.
The most numerous
In general, all outbreaks have fewer than 10 associated cases except for seven outbreaks that exceed that figure: one work-related in Gran Canaria with 33 cases, one social in La Palma with 22 infected in a birthday party, two educational with family ramifications in Tenerife with 18 and 15 cases, one work-related in Fuerteventura with 17 cases, one family with 12 people involved in Gran Canaria and one social, also in Gran Canaria, with 11 people involved.
Regarding the outbreaks of work origin, the aforementioned in Fuerteventura with 17 cases reported among workers of the State Security Forces, one reported in Gran Canaria in a restaurant establishment with 10 people affected, one in Tenerife with eight cases in a food industry company, one in Gran Canaria with eight people involved in a hotel, two also in Gran Canaria with six cases each reported in separate businesses, and one with seven cases in Gran Canaria in a hotel.
Regarding the four educational outbreaks, one affects 18 people in Tenerife and has family and social ramifications; another, also in Tenerife and with family ramifications, has 15 cases; there is another in Tenerife that affects four people; and another in Gran Canaria that has three cases.
Regarding the sports outbreaks, one has been reported in a gym in La Palma and affects eight people, another has occurred in Tenerife and is linked to boxing and has five associated cases, and another has been registered in a gym in Tenerife and has five people involved.
With respect to the health outbreak, with family ramifications, it has been reported at the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital and affects four people: two patients and two family members.
Old outbreaks
Monitoring is also continuing on 49 old outbreaks, some of which have grown in number of cases. Thus, there is a social outbreak, with work and family ramifications, which already has 104 people affected in Gran Canaria; one social with 59 involved reported in a nightlife venue in La Palma; one work-related detected in a construction company in Gran Canaria with 51 cases; one sports-related in Tenerife with 32 cases; one social/family with 30 people involved in Tenerife, and one sports-related with 21 infected in a football team in Gran Canaria.
