After the Easter school break and after a week without any educational group in quarantine due to Covid in Lanzarote, the island once again has confined classrooms. This has been confirmed by the Ministry of Education, from where they have reported that there are currently four groups in quarantine in Lanzarote's educational centers.
Regarding active cases, there are 13 among the 24,740 students on the island and three among the 2,369 teachers that Lanzarote's educational centers have.
In this regard, it should be remembered that the Ministry of Health notified an educational outbreak this week on the island, with family ramifications, which until Wednesday had five affected.
A total of 70 groups in quarantine in the Canary Islands
In the Canary Islands as a whole, of the 17,000 groups existing in public, subsidized and private educational centers on the islands, a total of 70 are currently in confinement due to a positive coronavirus case among their teaching staff and/or students, seven more than last week.
With this, the number of Infant, Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate groups in quarantine due to Covid-19 in the educational centers of the Canary Islands is 0.4%.
Currently, active cases among teaching staff total 44 out of more than 32,000 teachers, and those of students 384, out of more than 335,000 enrolled in the Canary Islands.
