The high temperatures recorded in Lanzarote and La Graciosa in recent days are more reminiscent of July than the beginning of November. Specifically, 31.7 degrees were reached in Tinajo at 5:00 PM this Tuesday, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
An hour earlier, at 4:00 PM, thermometers in Tías reached 29.5 degrees, unusually high temperatures in mid-autumn. During Wednesday, the island once again experienced warm values, such as the 30.1 degrees at 2:00 PM at Lanzarote Airport
In La Graciosa and the north of Lanzarote, temperatures have been somewhat milder, ranging between 26 degrees on the eighth island and 28 in Haría.
Regarding the minimum temperatures, in Lanzarote and La Graciosa they have been around 20 degrees last night.
Prediction for the coming days
The Aemet forecasts that temperatures will begin to **drop notably starting this Thursday** on both islands, **up to six degrees less** in some areas. Thus, temperatures are expected to stabilize and be more typical of autumn.
For this Thursday, skies with cloudy intervals with clear spells are forecast during the second half of the day. Minimum temperatures will barely change, but maximum temperatures will register a moderate decrease, especially in the interior and east, with values between 20 and 23 and 24 degrees. The wind will blow moderately from the northeast.
Furthermore, as you may recall, the Canary Islands Government has declared a pre-alert for high seas in Lanzarote and La Graciosa starting at 00:00 hours this Thursday, with waves reaching two to three meters in height.
During the rest of the week, maximum temperatures will remain around 24 and 25 degrees, while minimums will drop slightly to 18. This drop will continue next week when Aemet forecasts minimums of up to 16 degrees.
