Playa Honda celebrated the VIII San Silvestre Race in which the athlete José Carlos Hernández was proclaimed absolute champion. The Lanzarote Veterans Athletes Club was in charge of organizing, with the collaboration of the Sports area of the San Bartolomé City Council, the competition that was held last December 31 on Avenida de las Playas in the town.
Many people came to encourage the hundred participants who traveled 5,500 meters until reaching the height of Princesa Ico, where both the start and the finish line were located. The entrants were divided into different categories from pre-Benjamin to female and male veterans.
At the end of the event, the trophies were awarded to the winners, ending with a raffle of items donated by the collaborating companies, in which all the race attendees participated.
