Lanzarote Fashion Weekend exceeded its own expectations to become an "unforgettable night for the five hundred people who gathered this Saturday in the magical space of Jameos del Agua around the presentation of the Custo Barcelona capsule collection." The famous designer surprised the public with 80 garments - half of them unpublished - characterized by his usual eclectic textures and alien colors, among which eight exclusive looks inspired by the colors and shapes of Lanzarote stood out, an island of which he confesses to feeling "in love".

The first surprise of the night for the attendees took place as soon as they accessed Jameos del Agua: two robots were responsible for welcoming and acting as hosts in what constituted the first cognitive event in which personalization comes from the hand of artificial intelligence. In fact, through cognitive technology, Jameos del Agua was "customized" throughout the evening with lighting that varied in color depending on the feelings of the attendees.

After the reception, the public, among whom were prominent celebrities such as Helen Lindes from Lanzarote, Fiona Ferrer, Brianda Fitz-James Stuart, Elizabeth Reyes, Carla Pereyra, Marta Asturias, Miranda Makaroff and Óscar Higares, among others, and a hundred national and international journalists and influencers specialized in the fashion sector, moved to the interior of the Jameos del Agua Auditorium to enjoy the Custo Barcelona capsule collection, eighty spectacular garments, half of them unpublished, which combine the colors and textures with which the designer usually works. Especially striking were the eight looks inspired by the island for which Custo even used elements as significant of the island's heritage as the famous rosettes of the artisan Macarena Arrocha.

The firm wanted to reflect the spirit of the island, drawing inspiration from its colors and shapes: the sand of its most desert areas, the silvery shine of its waters or the combinations of dark volcanic stone with exuberant vegetation in a thousand colors. The dresses, both mini and maxi, are the star garment of this collection. Of different volumes, fitted or looser, they are constructed from multiple cuts of fabrics such as very fine silks, knitted jaquards, iridescent nylon and even openwork fabrics. Shine is the protagonist of the proposal in fabrics and metallic elements in gold, silver or pink.

Technology was also key in the inspiration process of the collection presented by Custo Barcelona at the fashion show. IBM provided the designer with an artificial intelligence tool, Cognitive Fashion, developed by its R&D laboratories -IBM Research- which compared the image bank of Custo Barcelona's collections over the last 10 years, more than a thousand, with more than four hundred images of Lanzarote to facilitate the designer's inspiration process for the designs that reflected the essence of these two aesthetic universes. In the tool, Custo Dalmau found a starting point, a different and fresh way to take the first step in his process of inspiring the designs that reflected the soul of the island.

The event continued around the pool designed by César Manrique, where attendees could taste a menu based on their culinary tastes since they had previously revealed the type of food they would like to find to Taro, the virtual advisor of the event. Their answers inspired three of the seven dishes of a proposal based on local products, which included dishes as suggestive as the Cactus Burger, the Canarian black pig, the rabbit, sancocho and Canarian red tuna.

The culmination of a futuristic night, full of surprises, elegance and innovation was a DJ session in the purest Jameos Music Festival style, with the always fresh and recognizable sound of the genuine Pascal Moscheni, Nacho Larache and Javier San Juan Aka Mr. Paradise.

Lanzarote Fashion Weekend will end this Sunday with a day of free time so that personalities, celebrities and influencers can continue to get to know the island with the plan that best suits their agendas. During the weekend, in addition, a series of activities have been organized that have led attendees to discover the landscapes of Lanzarote and discover its enogastronomic charms.
