The Temporary Foreigners Reception Center (CATE) provisionally installed in Puerto Naos, in response to the new wave of migrants arriving in cayucos and pateras to the island, will be dismantled as the transfer of the people it serves to other islands has been authorized.
According to sources from the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, about 150 immigrants who remain in the Puerto Naos CATE will be transferred this Tuesday to other centers in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
Likewise, another 90 immigrants who are being cared for in the provisional CATE of Arrecife, installed next to the Police station, will be transferred to those islands.
The immigrants who are in Puerto Naos arrived on the island this Monday and had to be housed in tents set up by the Emergency Consortium.
