More than a hundred students from IES Las Maretas participated in the solidarity race in favor of Save the Children, which the center has been celebrating for more than a decade to raise money for this NGO. A sporting and solidarity activity that, with a collection of more than 3,000 euros per year, has become an obligatory event for the students of the center.
The Arrecife City Council collaborates in the organization of the race and councilors of Environment and Sports, Tomás Fajardo and Manuel Hernández, came there this Friday, who were proud of "this year's participation and the organization of the event by the center."
The event began at 10.30 am from El Reducto beach to the El Cable area. The originality of this initiative is that the teenagers themselves strive to get the money, since what is collected depends on the laps they make. Civil Protection, Local Police and Red Cross also collaborated in the race.
