IES Agustín Espinosa has culminated a week full of activities to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the visit of Nobel Prize winner Severo Ochoa to this school, which took place on April 11, 1988. Numerous informative panels reflecting the figure, research and visit of Severo Ochoa have decorated the courtyard of this institute.
In addition, the Second Year Baccalaureate students have carried out work on the life, work and scientific repercussions of the Nobel Prize winner's discoveries and have transmitted this knowledge to the rest of the students at the center. The students also watched the film production "The Conquest of a Nobel".
Finally, to culminate this week, Coty Fernández-Lavandera, niece of the Nobel Prize winner and former teacher and director of the center, gave the talk "Severo Ochoa in Lanzarote. Life and work", in a packed auditorium. The event was attended by the current educational community, students and teachers from 25 years ago who were present at this "historic and endearing" visit.
