Hundreds of satires but only six murgas for the Grand Final on Friday

Social criticism and two names that came up in several songs: "Enriquito and Antón" and their disagreements in the PIL-PSOE pact. The groups of this Wednesday, before a less crowded Recinto Ferial than the previous days, lashed out at the indifference of public officials to "street problems". Although names from the public sphere were mentioned, the criticism turned to the most tangible reality: traffic, difficult access to housing, low salaries, work-life balance and a Charco de San Ginés "full of shit".

"Los Gorfines" opened the gala of the third phase of the Contest behind the bars of the "Centro Penitenciarioencarna ? val" and dressed as a prisoner, representing the "Death sentence of the past carnival". They claimed to have conducted surveys of the citizens of the Island to focus the criticisms of their composition "I can't stand it and that's why I always criticize". The result, a litany of objects of complaint: politicians, lies, plugged-in officials, banks, monopolies, the dirt of the Charco de San Ginés and the General Plan. Their 29 members claimed in "The ceilings of the sucker", their second song, the nationalist unity and with a staging in which they gave shape with the color of their shirts to the tricolor flag, they launched a message: "Let's make the Canary Islands one, a single nation, with seven green stars (and what about La Graciosa?) with eight green stars on the tricolor flag".

Fifth year for "Los Inadaptados" who on this occasion have made their own costumes. Thirty-four "Edward Scissorhands in the Carnival of Lanzarote" took to the stage until they went crazy. If in the first song "The same woof-woofs with a different collar" they didn't want to talk about politics but they did ? "they talk about Isabel and they are worse", they sang ? in "One of crazy people, I invite you" they deliriously wrote lyrics with some ear-pulling to public officials and turned their performance into a spectacle, where even Ronaldiño participated, scoring balls in a basket. "I'm not crazy, it's what I pretend", they assured. To say goodbye, they put the public on a train that stopped in different areas of Arrecife and said goodbye kissing: "I want you to give me a kiss".

With "Las Intoxicadas" came the female participation and thus they claimed the "Actuality of the voice of a murguera". Dressed in Antonio Aparicio's design "Bewitched Spell" they didn't want to spoil the party but Inalsa and the seven days that the Island spent without water due to the fire starred in the first of their criticisms. The heads of the capital Corporation had their little pat on the forehead: "The incompetence of this City Council that puts four machangos in charge". In their second intervention "There is a letter for you" they were sending epistolary messages with postscripts of reproaches and the last letter was dedicated to Cathaysa's mother.

The newly released "Mery Ke!" put an end to the Murgas Contest with the rhythm of the Batucada "Sur Caliente". With the design "A day at the circus with Las Mary Ke!", by Juan El Gasolina, they drew attention to the priorities that matter to citizens. "On this island they have spent everything on nonsense". Drugs, the Rocar, floods due to rain, traffic accidents..."Damn it, think a little and step on that brake because there are already many dead on the road". There was no shortage of memories of Cathaysa and Yasmila and the condemnation of violence. In "Mother, father and husband" they related in time a day of a single mother who, presented as a heroine, even stressed the members of the murga: waking up, breakfast, school, work, shopping?

The jury's decision did not arrive until one in the morning. The singer Isi, winner of the contest "I want to be like Pepe", was in charge of the musical performance during the deliberation time, which was delayed longer than expected. Finally "Los Inadaptados", "Los Gorfines", "Las Arretrancas", "Los Simplones", "Los Desahuciados" and "Los Tabletuos" advance to the Grand Final. This last group took the recognition for the best Presentation and the one for Fantasy, Design and Costumes, and also won the only Criticó prize, which was awarded for the first time and which valued the best lyrics.

In Presentation, "Los Gorfines" and "Ladys Golosinas" took the second and third prize, respectively, and "Ladys Golosina" and "Las Arretrancas", the second and third prize for Design and Costumes. The awards will be presented next Friday at La Gran Final.
