Haría will boost the craft market by showcasing the most significant popular traditions

The Department of Crafts of the Haría City Council, coordinated by Rosa María Pérez Betancort, will boost the artisan market on Saturdays with the realization of diverse activities related to the customs and popular traditions of Lanzarote. Every Saturday, those attending the artisan market will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about various aspects of the island's culture and will be able to enjoy different exhibitions, as well as participate in workshops.

Each month the theme of the activities will be changed. August will be dedicated to "ancestral trades" with live demonstrations. Thus, on Saturday, August 6, at 10:00 a.m., there will be an exhibition and a "Ceramics Workshop", taught by Aquilino Rodríguez. In addition, on the 20th, also at 10:00 a.m., the "Palm and Basketry Workshop" will be held, which will be given by the artisans of the municipality Esther Romero and Eulogio Betancor.

"In this way, both visitors and the resident population will learn firsthand about the traditions and customs of our land," said the councilor of the area, Rosa María Pérez Betancor, who emphasized that this activity should be known by "the little ones".
