Haría commemorates old traditions every June 23. The burning of Facundo and the dance of fire recall those times when the inhabitants of the island depended even more on the climate and the change of seasons was a great event. The arrival of summer was an opportunity for purification and fire was the best way to destroy everything negative and start the new season with energy.
This Saturday the 24th, at 12:30, the Solemn Mass was celebrated in honor of San Juan Bautista and the procession enlivened by the Municipal Band of Pájara. At 9:00 p.m. it will be the turn of the institutional act of the 'XXIV Haría Awards' to Manuel Perdomo Cabrera and Lionel Morales González, with the performance of the Municipal Band of Pájara, in the Auditorium of Jameos del Agua, ending the night with a festival in the Plaza de Haría.
The end point to the festivities will be, on Sunday, June 25, the Tapas Fair and the Los Lola concert in the Plaza de Haría, starting at 1:00 p.m., events in charge of closing a few intense weeks of devotion, enjoyment and participation in which the Patron Saint has been honored in the northern municipality.
