The residents of Haría experienced and enjoyed the magical night of San Juan, at an event where the Haría 2010 Awards were presented, which this time went to the Renacimiento de Mala Society and José Lavandera López. Afterwards, there was the traditional ritual of the fire dance, the burning of Facundo, and fireworks to celebrate this magical night.
The setting chosen for the celebration was the stage set up in the Haría square, where the event began at 9:15 p.m. with the reading of the proclamation and the presentation of the Haría 2010 Awards.
The first to participate were the 18 elementary and intermediate-level students who are part of the String Orchestra of the Lanzarote Conservatory of Music, who presented the attendees with a repertoire of varied classical music of different styles and eras, letting their string, wind, and keyboard instruments sound. Secondly, the young Lanzarote singer Dulce Hernández took to the stage, offering two songs with a lot of rhythm and freshness.
After the performance by Dulce Hernández, the mayor of Haría, José Torres Stinga, took to the stage to introduce the proclaimer, José María Betancort López, who delivered his proclamation for about thirty minutes, accompanied by a projection of images on a large screen installed in the square. After the reading, the mayor presented the proclaimer with the gold badge of the City Council and the heraldic shield of the municipality.
Next, the institutional act of the presentation of the Haría 2010 Awards began, the distinction of which went to the Renacimiento de Mala Society and José Lavandera López, who were presented with the gold badge of the City Council and the award as the Haría 2010 Award.
After the awards ceremony, the mayor addressed the public to encourage them to "continue working to achieve the best achievements for the municipality" and also to wish them good festivities.
Afterwards, everyone present moved to the back of the stage to enjoy the ritual of the fire dance, the burning of Facundo, and the fireworks, and then dance to the best rhythms with the Lanzarote orchestras until dawn.
