The Firefighters of the Security and Emergency Consortium have had to evict three homes located on Calle Caldera de Taburiente in Arrecife this Monday afternoon. The houses are affected by a water leak that has caused the false ceiling of two of them to fall.
Apparently, "the problems began on December 5, when the false ceiling of one of the houses fell due to a water leak, the problem has persisted until today, without being resolved," explained Enrique Espinosa, manager of the Consortium, to La Voz. "This afternoon another false ceiling has fallen from another of the houses, so we have decided to evacuate the three floors," adds Espinosa.
"A plumber is on site trying to find out where the water leak is coming from and, meanwhile, the Cabildo's expert is assessing the risks to determine if the three families are transferred to a hotel to spend the night," explains the manager of the Security Consortium.
The mayor of the city, Manolo Fajardo Feo, has also traveled to the scene to inquire about the residents and the condition of their homes.
