CB Puerto del Carmen and CD Magec Tías have joined forces to raise their voices on this 8M. To commemorate the day and claim their rights as women and as athletes, the players of their first teams have created a video where they expose some of the differences between being male athletes and female athletes.

The lack of visibility, treatment, ignorance, lack of equality, investment, etc., are some points that the protagonists of this video expose.

According to a joint statement, the players of both clubs, "regardless of whether they are youth players or not, whether they speak Spanish or not, whether they are national or foreign" want to "dot the i's so that women's sports have the same impact as men's, making it known that in Lanzarote, and in Tías specifically, there is elite sports, although it is forgotten by society, the media and the authorities."

In this regard, it should be remembered that both Balonmano Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen and Magec Tías “Against Gender Violence” compete in the professional category, in the Guerreras Iberdrola handball league and the Women's League 2, respectively.
