Father Patricio Larrosa, the priest who presides over the Association of Collaboration and Effort of Honduras (ACOES), which was nominated for the Princess of Asturias Awards last year, will be in Lanzarote on May 23 and 24, where he will offer an open talk to spread his work.
After his first stay on the island a year ago to publicize the missionary work he has been carrying out in the Latin American country since 1992 and to thank the collaboration that more than fifty Lanzarote residents provide to it through sponsorship, Father Patricio returns to Lanzarote in order to continue publicizing the projects undertaken by the Association of Collaboration and Effort in Honduras
"Through this NGO, founded in 1996 by this missionary from Granada, more than 8,000 young Hondurans from the most disadvantaged classes have had the opportunity to receive academic training as a tool that has allowed them to build a dignified life, in what is one of the poorest countries in all of Latin America and which was once considered the most violent in the world," they emphasize from the association.
As he did in his previous visit, he will disseminate in different educational centers on the island. Thus, on Wednesday, May 23, he will go to the Nieves Toledo school and, in the afternoon, at 5:00 p.m., he will offer a talk open to the public at the San Francisco Javier parish. Finally, on the morning of Thursday the 24th, he will also visit the Costa Teguise school.
The work of ACOES Honduras reached one of its greatest recognitions at an international level when last year it was nominated, at the proposal of the Spanish Embassy in that Central American country, for the Princess of Asturias Awards in the category of International Cooperation for its work promoting education among the most disadvantaged classes.
