This Saturday, Doña Nieves Ramírez Curbelo passed away at the age of 97.
A woman ahead of her time, an enterprising businesswoman with a vision for the future in an era when women had it very difficult. She dared to venture into the fishing industry, the real estate sector, construction, and was a pioneer in the aloe industry on the island, as she was a co-founder of the company Lanzaloe. To all these tasks, we must add raising 10 children from her marriage to Jesús López Socas (gynecologist on the island).
Farewell to a brave woman, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always involved with her island.
