The Department of Education of the Arrecife City Council, led by Abigail González, has taken advantage of the Christmas holiday period to carry out repair and maintenance work on the cisterns of the educational centers CEIP Capellanía del Yágabo and CEIP Argana Alta.
These actions have included emptying the tanks to repair detected leaks and, once empty, a inspection to ensure the absence of legionella, thus guaranteeing the health of the water in the facilities.
Councilor Abigail González has highlighted the importance of maintaining the infrastructure of the municipality's schools in optimal condition, and stressed that "our commitment is to ensure that the educational centers of Arrecife are safe and suitable spaces for the academic and personal development of our students. Maintenance work, such as that carried out on the cisterns, is essential to guarantee the quality of the facilities and the health of the entire educational community."
Throughout 2024, the Department of Education has deployed an extensive improvement plan in various schools in the municipality. These interventions have included the replacement of deteriorated carpentry in windows and doors, improvements and conditioning of shade areas, as well as the creation of several multisensory classrooms, adapted to the needs of students with functional diversity.
The painting of facilities and conditioning works have also been carried out in the main accesses of other schools, facilitating both mobility and safety.
The Education Area has not only opted for the conservation of existing infrastructures, but also for providing the centers with innovative spaces that promote inclusive and comfortable learning.
