The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, led by Poli Suárez, has invested 74,214.30 euros in the improvement works of two educational infrastructures of the secondary education institutes (IES) En Altavista and César Manrique, both in Arrecife (Lanzarote).
Specifically, 39,403 euros have been allocated to the IES En Altavista to carry out various actions to improve its sanitation network, replace the general collector in the sanitary floor and review and repair its cornice. These actions sought to improve the safety of the installation, avoiding potential detachments and possible water leaks. In addition, with these works, a fiber cement collector with asbestos detected in the network has been eliminated.
In the IES César Manrique, for its part, 34,811.30 euros have been allocated to update the metal roof of the technology classroom and replace the asphalt fabric of the roof of the plastic classroom. In the first of these, various sections of the gutter have been repaired and built, the roof plates have been replaced and several elements of the structure that have been affected by leaks inside the classroom have been repaired. These two actions have been carried out with the aim of improving the health of the installation.
With these two investments, the Ministry of Education, through the General Directorate of Infrastructure and Equipment, coordinated by Iván G. Carro, reaffirms its commitment to the maintenance, improvement and updating of educational equipment on the islands, offering safe and comfortable environments for the practice of teaching.
