Moments of anguish with a happy ending. Volunteers from the Lanzarote Limpia Association rescued last weekend a turtle that had a sack tangled in one of its fins on Atrás beach, in Órzola.
"It came looking for help and found us," say the group. The marine reptile had several threads of the wrapping around one of its fins, but luckily, "they were not squeezing it," say the association.
Given the difficulty in removing the sack, the person who was trying to save the turtle requested "a knife or some keys" to cut the ties, as heard in the video that accompanies this information.
"It is extremely important that we are aware of the problem that surrounds us. Or, rather, the garbage that is surrounding us. We are losing the battle of our lives," warns the group.
