The Smurfs, the Ninja Turtles, D'Artacan and the Three Muskehounds, Willy Fog, The Knights of the Zodiac, Mazinger Z or the clowns Gaby, Fofó, Miliki and Fofito are some of the characters that will proliferate through the streets of Arrecife during the celebration of the next Carnival after the election of 'Children's television of the 80s and 90s' as the carnival allegory of the Lanzarote capital after obtaining 504 votes, 45% of the total.

The Department of Festivities of the City Council of the Lanzarote capital, directed by the Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio, launched, with the collaboration of the carnival groups, a participatory process open to the public who were able to cast their vote electronically through the municipal website between July 21 and August 4, obtaining a total of 1,121 votes.

In this sense, Eugenio expresses his gratitude both to the people who have participated in this online election and to the carnival groups in charge of making the proposals that were submitted to a vote "for contributing to our Carnival continuing to grow and consolidating itself at the level where one of the most emblematic celebrations of our city should be".

The remaining proposals submitted to a vote were: 'The Sphinx and the Lost Treasure' (142 votes), 'The World of Pirates and Corsairs' (121), 'Kingdom of Dreams' (121 votes), 'Adventures at Sea' (119 votes) and 'Galactic Voyages' (114 votes).
