Colors shine at Arenas Internacional School

The Olympics show us the contrast between black and white and color, between a pessimistic world and one in which joy reigns

Arenas International School Olympics

Under the title "The Universe of Colors", Arenas Internacional School celebrates, between April 5 and 11, the 29th edition of its Olympics, inspired on this occasion by the world of colors and light, as a metaphor for variety, energy and joy.

A world of colors that the students, from Infantil to Bachillerato, together with a group of mothers and teachers, and the German students (Paul-Gerhardt-Shule) who participate in the School's Exchange Program, has successfully staged at the opening of the twenty-ninth edition held this Saturday, April 5, and which has once again been attended by the entire educational community.

To this end, the participants staged, through dramatizations, gymnastics and dances, the contrast between light and darkness, color and gray, melancholy and happiness. Finally, they showed us how, in a collaborative way, it is possible to merge the two worlds and bring the illusion of the Rainbow Country to the country of darkness.

The opening was attended by María del Mar Boronat Mas and Alejandro Ramírez Doblado, Councilor for Education and Sports, respectively, of the Teguise City Council, accompanied by the General Director of Arenas, Arenas Atlántico and Arenas Internacional Schools, Alberto Rodríguez, the Managing Director Jaime Rodríguez and other political and academic authorities.

The act was presented by the director of Arenas Internacional School, José Paz Botana, who gave way to the endearing words of the crier of this edition, Raquel Felipe Santos, mother of a student of the School. Then began the opening gala where the facilities became a large stage where you could enjoy various paintings: the world of the circus, multicolored paintings, colored teddy bears, games such as parcheesi or Rubick's cube were some of the scenes shown by the students whose costumes, designed by Manuel Camejo and made by a group of mothers and teachers of the Center, was again praised by the audience.

At the end of the performance, the students carrying the Olympic Torch entered, and the subsequent lighting of the cauldron, whose honor this year falls on the student of 2nd ESO, Julia López Viña.

The opening ended with the participation of the guests in the final dance, thus joining the illusion and joy of the students and all those who have made this show possible.

Now there is a week full of Olympic activities. Enjoy!
