The San Bartolomé Theater opened its doors on Monday morning to host a talk given jointly by the Civil Guard and the Local Police of San Bartolomé to four groups of 3rd year ESO students from the municipality's IES on "Social Networks and Bullying".

The talk addressed the use of cell phones, computers, tablets, consoles and video games. In addition, young people were able to see through illustrative videos some situations that may occur. Also, young people were given a game to do at home with their parents, in order to work together with families on prevention.

Civil Guard and Local Police also reported the existence of the website www.Is4k.es, a page from which to get all the information and the phone to go to, always free and confidential, with issues of dependence, cyberbullying, bullying, sexting, doubts and prevention, behavior, etc. This page is for tutors, parents, educators and is sponsored by INCIBE (National Institute of Cybersecurity of Spain), also making available to users the free and confidential phone 900 116 117.

Prevention, one of the "great weapons of protection"

Agents Saturnino Espino and Miguel Montelongo also stressed the importance of prevention, to avoid major problems ranging from dependence, misuse, and related problems such as harassment, sexting, bullying, etc. "It is also important that the kids put a face to us and build trust between the security forces and the kids because we are here to prevent risks, and prevention is one of the great weapons of protection."

The talks will be given to a total of 200 students in the municipality, starting with this first one to students of IES San Bartolomé. In April it is planned to give the talks to both students and parents in Playa Honda. "

Also present at the talk was staff attached to the Department of Social Welfare of the City of San Bartolomé, which can also go with any questions or problems.
