The Los Cocoteros festivities begin this Friday and will continue until August 15. The president of the events committee, Ayoze Martín, has reported that two of the most important events of the program are dedicated to music. One of them will be held this Saturday, with a stall where Los Gorfines, the Gayda folk group and a Arrecife band will perform. Next Saturday, music will once again be highlighted, with the Los Cocoteros gala, where different artists from the town, Tahíche and Guatiza will play.
This very Friday, the neighbors will be able to enjoy women's ball, and a concert, at 10:00 p.m. On Saturday there will be a walk, children's ball, as well as the aforementioned stall. On Sunday the program includes Parcheesi for children, soccer for adults, men's ball and bingo.
During the week there will be several sporting events, such as ball, soccer or beach volleyball championships and there will also be a summer cinema, on Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. Next Saturday, in addition to the Los Cocoteros gala, there will be a sailor party, where the neighbors will be dressed in sea motifs.
Another important event will take place on Tuesday the 14th, with a fashion show, a play back and a fair. On Wednesday there will be a barbecue, with a tortilla and dessert contest, a water party and, at 10:30 p.m., fireworks.
