The Councilor of the Tourism Board, María José Docal, has confirmed on Radio Lanzarote that the presentation of Almodóvar's latest film will take place on the island. In addition, she has also announced that the setting chosen for the first viewing of "Broken Embraces" will be the Auditorium of Los Jameos del Agua and that the date is scheduled for the end of March, although the day has not yet been specified.
This event would bring with it a notable "promotion of the island in the Peninsula, since the proposal and the desire is that a series of media outlets accompany them, so it will be spread that there is an island called Lanzarote", Docal commented.
The filming of this movie, carried out in different locations in Lanzarote, already meant an important promotion of the island, occupying space in national and international media thanks to the presence of Pedro Almodóvar and Penélope Cruz on the island. Now, the presentation of the film in Los Jameos, especially after the Oscar won by the Spanish actress, will be a new boost.
Once it has been decided that the film will be screened in Jameos del Agua, it remains to be seen how the event will be managed. To this end, Docal will meet this week with the Councilor of the Tourist Centers, Carlos Espino.
