The contest that was held under the slogan "Climate change: The School, a commitment to the future" has awarded one of the students from the Unitaria School of Caleta de Famara. Little Jonay González, from the 4 and 5-year-old group, won the first prize in the School Essay and Drawing Contest on Climate Change; and he did so by presenting a collage that was accepted by the jury appointed by the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands. Thus, last Tuesday, April 15, the Councilor for Education of the City Council, María del Mar Gopar, congratulated the students of the center.
Jonay will travel to La Palma in a few days to participate in a novel educational meeting on climate change. Also, the center will receive new educational material as a prize.
The students of the first cycle of Infant and Primary participated in March in this contest, contributing works consisting of a drawing and an attached phrase or word that fixed the gaze on the consequences of climate change.
