Young people from Yaiza, Teguise and even Fuerteventura, aged between 13 and 17, make up the group of kids who have traveled to the island of La Palma. Accompanied by a monitor and a person in charge of the municipal Youth area, they have all embarked on a multi-adventure trip, organized by the Youth and Sports Department of the Yaiza Consistory.
The mayor herself, Gladys Acuña, came to say goodbye to them last Monday at the Guacimeta airport and encouraged them "to enjoy an experience that invites them to get to know the rest of the islands of the archipelago."
The expedition will establish its base in the San Antonio del Monte Camp, in the Palencia municipality of Garafía. Until August 17, in addition to visiting emblematic places on Isla Bonita, young people will participate in countless sports and extreme activities. Canyoning or ravine descent, mountain biking, flying rappel, archery, climbing or zip line are just some of the alternatives.
Young people are also expected to carry out orientation exercises, night walks and environmental routes, which include, among others, visits to the Los Tilos forest, the Barlovento Lagoon and the Astrophysical Complex of Roque de Los Muchachos.
