The social hall of the Casa del Miedo hosts until August 25 an exhibition of handcrafted ship models, the work of the master of the shore Antonio Fuentes. After many years of work, Fuentes has a real museum in his house, as a faithful reflection of what was once the history of Arrecife marinero and also of Lanzarote.

A part of these artisan works is exhibited in the Casa del Miedo, where you can appreciate a schooner, a sloop or a balandra, a boat or a palabote, among others. These models are made of mulberry and samanguila wood and, for the most part, are protected with linseed oil, turpentine and matte varnish.

Antonio Fuentes learned this trade of shore carpenter as a child, from a very dear master of whom he has fond memories, Pancho Trujillo. He was the one who taught him to draw the frame and describe a plan.

Master Antonio Fuentes would like all this work to be exhibited in a place so that the new generations or those who visit the island have a review of what Arrecife and Lanzarote were, seafaring places, of which there is hardly anything left.
