A protest has been called in Lanzarote to condemn the gang rape that occurred in Gran Canaria

The Feminist Platform 8 de Marzo of Lanzarote has called a rally to support the victim of the "new gang rape" that occurred in Gran Canaria. The event, to which they are calling all those people "who want to send their solidarity and understanding of the horror experienced", will take place next Friday, June 29, at 7:30 p.m., at the old Cabildo.

Through a statement, the Feminist Platform 8 de Marzo of Lanzarote wanted to make public its "rejection" and its "pain for the suffering of the victim". "We repudiate the macho movements that are rampant in the media, the forums of sexual aggressors, the connivance of patriarchal social sectors in the face of violence against women," they say.

"We hold responsible for this violence judges who, with their sentences, downplay sexual assaults and even blame the victims, legislators who do not take the problem seriously and maintain heteropatriarchal uses and laws, non-feminist men who, with their unfounded and self-defensive opinions, trivialize the risk of being a woman, even though machismo kills more people than terrorism," continue from the Feminist Platform 8 de Marzo of Lanzarote, from where they warn that they are not going to stop "until this society changes, is re-educated and becomes egalitarian.
