A new boat rescued east of Lanzarote

There could be about 53 people traveling in the boat, including 10 women and a minor.

Maritime Rescue has rescued a new boat at dawn 32 miles east of Arrecife, according to the Emergency Consortium.

There could be 53 people traveling in the boat, including 10 women and a minor, all of them of sub-Saharan origin and in apparent good condition.

This is the second boat to arrive on the island in the last 12 hours. The first was rescued around 7:00 p.m. with 51 people on board, eleven of them women.
