Maritime Rescue rescued this Thursday in waters near Lanzarote a boat with 45 people of Maghreb origin on board, including five women and four minors, all of them in good health.
The Salvamar Al Nair has come after a helicopter of the Government of the Canary Islands has located the boat near the coast of Lanzarote, in the territorial sea, as reported by the Emergency Consortium. The boat was about 17 kilometers east of Punta Mujeres and its occupants will arrive at the Arrecife dock, as reported by Agencia Efe.
This is the second boat with immigrants arriving in the Canary Islands this Thursday. Earlier in the morning, another group of 58 adult men of sub-Saharan origin was rescued by the Guardamar Calíope as they tried to reach Gran Canaria in a canoe. It is also the fourth boat that has been rescued so far this week. In total, 148 migrants have been assisted, including women and children.
