Maritime Rescue has rescued this Saturday a new boat with 33 migrants that has been intercepted while sailing towards the Canary Archipelago, as reported to Europa Press sources from the public body.

Around 08:00 hours, the Maritime Rescue Control Center in Las Palmas received a call from 112 reporting that a fisherman had spotted a boat 2 miles from Órzola and a Fire Department jet ski had already been mobilized.

The Control Center has mobilized the 'Talia' patrol boat and contacted a fishing boat that had approached the boat, as it was close to a rocky area.

The fishing boat and the Fire Department jet ski escorted the boat until the arrival of the Talia patrol boat, which at around 09:20 rescued the 33 people on board, all of them Maghrebi men, who will be disembarked in Arrecife at around 12:00 hours.

It is the second boat that has arrived in Lanzarote this Saturday. The first one was rescued by Salvamar and 57 people were traveling in it.
