On the occasion of the celebration of the festivity of Santiago Apóstol and Santa Ana de Tahíche, last weekend, the Speleology Group of the Canary Islands Uestayaide and the Climbing Group of Tahíche carried out the cleaning of the Cueva del Camión, a unique cavity of the volcanic subsoil of the Island that is located next to the Montaña de Tahíche.
The activity began around eleven in the morning, when the participants gathered at the Socio-Cultural Center of Tahíche to go to the nearby cave and begin the cleaning work, which concluded at three in the afternoon, with the extraction of approximately 200 kilos of waste and the considerable improvement of this hidden corner of Tahíche.
The Speleology Group of the Canary Islands Uestayaide has been established since February 2005 in the popular neighborhood of Titerroy. The speleologists from Lanzarote thanked the participation in said activity, which was attended by a dozen neighbors and young climbers, members of the Climbing Association of Tahíche.
