A telephone call, made about 93 kilometers away from the coast of Lanzarote, and the collaboration of the ships "World Prize" and "Kalahari Express" has allowed the crew of the Guardamar Caliope of Maritime Rescue to disembark this morning on the island to 132 people, seven of them minors.

After receiving this alert, Salvamento sent the Caliope to the area, which minutes before 11:00 p.m. managed to spot and rescue 68 people (50 men, 15 women and 3 children) who were in a boat.

On the way to its base and only minutes later, the same Salvamento boat came across another boat in which there were another 64 people, sub-Saharans like the previous ones, (60 men and 4 children).

With the 132 people assisted at sea, the Guardamar Caliope headed to Arrecife where, at about 03:00 hours, the disembarkation of all of them was completed, as reported this Saturday to EFE by a spokesman for the state company.

Once in the port, they were attended by the Red Cross, who after assessing them reported that they were in perfect health.
