The Yaiza City Council is carrying out new improvement works this week on the dirt roads of the Los Ajaches Natural Monument using municipal personnel and machinery that operates from the entrance access through the Las Coloradas urbanization to the parking points of the well-known Papagayo beaches.
The action on Thursday morning was concentrated in the vicinity of the campsite, whose opening for Easter "increases the volume of traffic". Yaiza takes advantage of the same arid material from the road, its irrigation and compaction for the conditioning of an area close to "30,000 square meters".
“It is necessary to improve the road surface of the dirt roads because, in addition to the daily visits that Papagayo has, we add the large number of vehicles that circulate during the summer period of Easter that we have just around the corner,” says the mayor Óscar Noda, who visited the area in the company of the Councilor for Public Works, Ángel Lago. The Yaiza City Council, on the other hand, makes a new call to "citizen responsibility to avoid throwing or leaving garbage in natural spaces".
