Video: The heavy rains of storm Olivier turn the streets of Haría into rivers

Lanzarote will continue to be under the influence of storm Olivier, so the rains will continue in the next few hours

Rainfall in northern areas of Lanzarote

The intense rains that have fallen during the morning in Lanzarote have made some ravines of the island run and have turned streets into rivers in the municipality of Haría as can be seen in the images. 

So far, the records have left more than 19 liters per square meter in Haría, 20 in the area of the Cueva de los Verdes and 22 in Los Lajares, in Ye. In Órzola and El Islote, the rain gauge has collected 14 liters per square meter, while in San Bartolomé the rainfall has left up to now 10 liters per square meter. 

In the rest of the island, in Tomaren, Guatiza and Yaiza a little more than 10 liters have been collected per square meter and in the central area of Arrecife 9. Lanzarote will continue to be under the influence of storm Olivier, so the rains and storms will continue in the next few hours. From this morning, the island will be on yellow alert for heavy rains and from this Wednesday on pre-alert for wind.

In addition, the rains have also reached the municipality of Tinajo, leaving rivers of mud in La Santa.
