The Cabildo of Lanzarote has initiated the procedure for the acquisition of two electric mountain bikes that will facilitate the inspection and surveillance work carried out by the environmental agents on the island of La Graciosa.
With this acquisition, according to the acting Minister of the Environment of the corporation, Nicolás Saavedra, "the lack of vehicles for the development of the tasks that the environmental agents carry out on the eighth island will be solved."
In this regard, he details that "the decision has been made to opt for the acquisition of two electric mountain bikes to solve the difficulties that environmental agents encounter in their inspection work in the natural environment of La Graciosa, taking into account the distances on the island, the type of terrain and the communication routes."
In addition, in this way "we are committed to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility."
For the acquisition of these bicycles, the Cabildo has a budget item of 3,978 euros charged to the Canary Islands Development Funds (FDCAN).
