Swimming temporarily prohibited in El Reducto beach

The analysis, in the vicinity of the Punta del Camello outfall, advises against swimming on this beach in Arrecife due to the presence of fecal water.

The Department of Beaches and Environment of the Arrecife City Council has installed information panels this Wednesday at the entrances to El Reducto beach where swimming is temporarily prohibited.

The Sanitary Surveillance Program of Bathing Water Zones of the Canary Islands, carried out by the General Directorate of Public Health of the Canary Islands Government, has informed the council that swimming on this beach is not recommended, and that swimming is temporarily prohibited. 

The Department of Beaches is in direct contact with Public Health to know the results of the new analyzes and determine the next lifting of this preventive prohibition. 

As is known, in the vicinity of this beach in the capital of Lanzarote, the Submarine Outfall is located next to Punta del Camello. 

El Reducto is a beach with a Blue Flag, which awards the high quality of its waters, safety, accessibility and the provision of surveillance and lifeguard services.
