A flight from Gran Canaria bound for Madrid had to make an emergency diversion to César Manrique-Lanzarote airport on Sunday morning, February 1, to attend to a passenger experiencing significant medical problems.

According to information provided via the social network X by Enaire's control center in the Canary Islands, the aircraft's crew contacted controllers to report the need for an unscheduled landing due to the health situation of a passenger on board.

From Enaire, the flight was provided with a continuous descent and a direct approach with priority to runway 03, while coordinating with Lanzarote airport for the necessary medical assistance on the ground to attend to the affected person upon arrival

The device allowed for a rapid intervention by health services. From the air traffic control center, they conveyed their wishes for a speedy recovery to the passenger.
