Amateur astronomer, Ramón López, collaborator of the Bolides and Meteorites Research Network (SPMN), detected a bolide flying over the island's sky on June 18 from Playa Blanca. The moment was captured sporadically at 23.19 hours.
According to López, that night "Lanzarote was not the only point where that bolide could be seen", also "another colleague" collaborator of the Bolides and Meteorites Research Network (SPMN), was able to capture it "from Gran Canaria".
"It is common for these bolides to be captured from the island", comments the owner of the video-detection station in Playa Blanca, so, in this case, "it has not been an extraordinary moment", he says.
As can be seen in the video, it was "a very sporadic and fleeting moment", the research network points out on its personal twitter.
