As indicated in the sentence in the section on proven facts, the defendant went to the Bar La Malagueña, located on León y Castillo street in Arrecife, and there he invited Saida Chanaa, who worked as a prostitute in said place, to have a drink, and then proposed to go to one of the rooms of the place to have sexual relations in exchange for the payment of the corresponding price, as he had done on previous occasions.
"Once in the room, the defendant Rachid asked Saida to bring him another drink, so she agreed, leaving the private room, a moment that was used by Rachid to hide a kitchen knife that he was carrying, with a thirteen-centimeter blade, under the mattress of the bed," explains the sentence, which maintains that when Saida returned, the defendant Rachid locked the door of the room, and taking the knife he had hidden, covered her mouth, told her "I'm going to kill you" and, "with the intention of ending her life", stabbed her three times in the lumbar region.
Later, he went to an open field where he hid the knife under some pallets. As a result of the attack, Saida Chanaa suffered penetrating incisive wounds in the abdominal cavity without injury to the viscera: one on the right side of four centimeters and two on the left side, of three centimeters, with hypertrophic scarring.
The experts reported that if the victim had not been quickly assisted, she would have died from the injuries caused by the defendant.
