A woman had to be evacuated this Sunday, January 25, to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation in a fire that broke out in her home, located at Julio Romero de Torres street, number 39, in the Parque Central neighborhood, in Arrecife.
According to the Consortium of Security and Emergencies, the alert was received at 6:38 PM through the Cecoes, reporting a fire in a dwelling with a person inside requesting help. While emergency personnel were en route, it was confirmed that the woman was trapped inside the property.
Upon the firefighters' arrival, the fire was fully developed in the living room area, with flames and dense smoke emanating from the main door. Fortunately, the occupant managed to exit through the back patio of the residence, although she had inhaled a large amount of smoke and gases, which caused her an anxiety attack. She was attended by health services and subsequently transferred to the hospital.
The officers proceeded to extinguish the fire using atomized water, resulting in part of the dwelling being incinerated. After extinguishing the fire, ventilation work was carried out in both the affected dwelling and the one on the upper floor, which was also affected by smokeOnce the intervention was completed, firefighters secured the building's door. National Police, Local Police, and health services were present at the scene.
