Agents of the Local Police of Tías arrested last Tuesday a minor and a teenager in the tourist area of Puerto del Carmen, as alleged perpetrators of a robbery with violence, using the snatch method, on a foreign woman who was visiting the Island.
A police report specifies that a woman alerted the Local Police after suffering an attack by two young men, one of whom attracted her attention while the other consummated the criminal act, which consisted of forcibly snatching a bag she was carrying.
As soon as they snatched it, the two young men started to flee on foot, but several passers-by who prevented them from escaping caused the defendants to end up throwing away the stolen bag.
The agents located one of those involved shortly after, in this case the minor, finding the other young man the following day. The latter, 19 years old, was identified as W.C.P., a native of Venezuela, although both are residents of San Bartolomé.
The last detainee, together with the instructed police proceedings, was placed at judicial disposal, while the other, due to his status as a minor, remained under the custody of his parents until his presentation.
