The Teguise Local Police arrested two British nationals, D.P., 34, and M.W., of the same age, for stealing from the Autos Martina car rental office in Costa Teguise.
Around 02:55 on January 27, the police received a phone call at the headquarters reporting that in that office, located next to the Puerto Tahíche apartments, they had observed two individuals stealing inside. Five minutes later, two pairs of the municipality's Local Police arrived at the scene, who, after interviewing the caller, described the alleged perpetrators of the robbery. Likewise, they also informed them that the two individuals had run inside the Puerto Tahíche hotel complex, as according to the caller, they were clients of the center.
The officers located and proceeded to arrest these two people inside the tourist complex. D.P. was carrying 115 euros in banknotes and M.W. 510 euros. In addition, the latter had minor cuts on his left hand.
In the ocular inspection of the place, 210 euros were found on the ground, in front of the detainees' rooms and in the corridors of the complex. In total, the loot amounted to 835 euros. In the rental office, it was found that the window had been forced and the glass of the door broken.
The detainees were placed at the disposal of the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise for an alleged crime of robbery with violence.
