The Local Police of Tías arrested two drivers last weekend who were driving under the influence of alcohol. The irregular driving of one of them and the accident of another of those arrested was the wake-up call that led to the performance of breathalyzer tests that gave positive results in both cases, multiplying by four the maximum permitted level of alcohol in exhaled air. Those involved were charged with an offense against traffic safety.
The events occurred in the town of Puerto del Carmen. The first of these, last Friday. The vehicle was intercepted by local agents after observing that it was driving irregularly. In the other case, a 41-year-old man suffered an accident with a high-cylinder vehicle, after which he was required by the police.
