Two arrested for the theft of a geophone committed more than a year ago

The Civil Guard has arrested in Lanzarote two people, residents of San Bartolomé, as alleged perpetrators of several crimes against property. C.S.F. has been arrested for an alleged crime of theft, while I.N.R.Q. has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of receiving stolen goods. The events date back to June 2012, when a theft of a geophone occurred inside a work van, in the town of Playa Honda.

This device is used to locate water leaks and has an estimated value of over 3,000 euros, according to the Civil Guard. As a result of the investigation of the events, the agents initiated a device to locate the van, in which it was believed that the electrical device in question was.

On October 9, a suspicious vehicle was stopped, inside which the geophone in question was found. The driver was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of receiving stolen goods, since "he could not explain how he had acquired said device, nor did he show any document that demonstrated its purchase illicitly", according to these same sources.

Subsequently, the agents of the Civil Guard of San Bartolomé initiated a series of pertinent investigations for the location of the person who allegedly had stolen said device. Thus, the investigation ended with the arrest of C.S.F. as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of theft.
