Two arrested for the robbery of a hotel in Costa Teguise

Equipped with balaclavas, caps, rubber gloves and a black bag, two men fled around 5:10 a.m. on Saturday, April 7 with the loot from the robbery they had just committed in the reception of the Hotel Coronas Playa, on Avenida del Mar in Costa Teguise. Pursued on the run by agents of the Local Police, they began to throw various objects to lighten the load they were carrying: 2,700 euros and seven metal boxes.

The assailants had arrived at the hotel in a Seat Córdoba. They entered the establishment, tied up the security guard and took the money and the boxes. A couple from the Local Police of Teguise who were patrolling the area saw them leaving the hotel and began the chase, after which they were able to arrest D.M.R., a native of Arrecife. The other person involved managed to escape, although according to the Civil Guard, he was arrested a few hours later.

Due to the way the assailants acted, the Police relate the detainees to several robberies committed in the receptions of some hotels on the island during the past month of March.
