Three people arrested for stealing two backpacks from surfers in La Santa

The events occurred in December, when a resident and a tourist, who were in "El Quemao", had their backpacks stolen, with objects valued at 2,500 euros...

The Civil Guard of the main post of San Bartolomé, on the island of Lanzarote, arrested on January 11 and 13 Y.J.B.H. and L.D.H.G., residents of La Santa, in Tinajo, and I.R.S., resident of Arrecife, all of Spanish nationality, as alleged perpetrators of a theft.

The events date back to December 2013, when a resident and a tourist, who were in the area called "El Quemao" in La Santa practicing surfing, had two backpacks stolen where they had all their belongings.

Among them, there were three latest generation mobile phones, a video camera, clothing and surfing accessories, all valued at about 2,500 euros. After the corresponding investigations, by personnel from the investigation area of the Civil Guard of San Bartolomé, the authorship of this theft was determined.

Once the alleged perpetrators were located, they were arrested. The Civil Guard recovered the stolen effects and handed them over to their legitimate owners. The proceedings of the case were sent to the Guard Court of Arrecife.
