Three women have been slightly injured when the Fred Olsen ship collided with the Playa Blanca dock. The collision occurred while the ship was performing docking maneuvers. The accident occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. this Sunday. According to the shipping company, "it is a minor incident that unfortunately caused five people on board who were waiting to disembark to fall and two vehicles to collide."
Several ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), Local Police, firefighters, Civil Protection and Civil Guard have been dispatched to the port. Once the injured were assisted, two of them were transferred by ambulance to different health centers.
The shipping company points out that "after attending to the passengers, it has resumed its usual trips and operates normally", in addition, the ship "has suffered minimal damage that will be repaired in the port of Corralejo".
