The Civil Guard of Costa Teguise has arrested three individuals as alleged perpetrators of 12 crimes of robbery with force inside rental vehicles in the municipalities of Teguise and Haría. A fourth person is charged with a crime of receiving stolen goods.
At the end of last December 2011, the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise initiated an investigation, after more than 10 robberies of these characteristics had occurred.
The Civil Guard then verified that they all responded to the same modus operandi. The perpetrators broke the glass of one of the windows "with a blunt object" and stole everything inside the vehicle, "such as mobile phones, computer, sunglasses and prescription glasses, cameras, telephoto lens, several backpacks and various clothing". The value of what was stolen amounted to 5,205 euros.
After following the trail of the stolen objects, on January 24, one of them, a mobile phone, was located, and the person who had acquired it, who is charged with a crime of receiving stolen goods.
From that same day until January 26, the Civil Guard arrested three people, whose initials correspond to A.G.A.G., J.J.M.B., A.F.T., as alleged perpetrators of the 12 crimes of robbery with force. The detainees were placed at the disposal of the court.
