Several residents of Puerto del Carmen report the possible poisoning of a group of cats on Sunday night on Risco Prieto Street.
The events, which have already been reported to the Civil Guard, occurred in the vicinity of a vacant lot in the area, "the place where they deposited the contaminated food", according to the complainant.
One of the neighbors who has brought the events to the attention of the Civil Guard, observed on Sunday morning that "in the garbage container near her house there was feed with meat for cats, although she did not give it much importance." That night, around 10:00 p.m., she found one of the cats agonizing on the sofa in her house, since it was common for the animal to enter the house. Finally, after a few hours, the cat ended up dying. A death that may have been caused by ingesting the intoxicated food, the complainant points out.
In addition, according to the woman, "the deceased animal lived with four more cats, who have not yet been seen to appear." So they suspect that "the same thing may have happened to them," she says.
